It’s been a rough couple of days to be a D.C. commuter

Wednesday PM: An investigation of a suspicious package on/near an Amtrak train in Rockville caused major delays on MARC and Metro Red Line.

Thursday AM: Apparent electrical problems on the Red Line cause huge delays. The Rockville and Shady Grove platforms were packed full. What’s usually a ten-minute ride made me nearly an hour late.

Thursday PM: Just about every train on the MARC Brunswick line was delayed 20 to 30 minutes.

Friday AM: A disabled freight train delays trains on the Brunswick line for 60-90 minutes or more. I usually arrive in Rockville shortly after 7:30. Today I didn’t get in until after 9:00.

I am pessimistic for this evening’s commute. We’re dealing with flooding and freezing rain, after all.
