I am part of the generation that grew up on the original Star Wars movies. As such, I was compelled to see the prequels even though, after each one, I left the theatre shaking my head in disappointment.
However, the story brought to light in the prequels causes one to look at the original films (chapters IV-VI) in a slightly different light. Some of the cryptic things Ben Kenobi said, for instance, or Uncle Owen.
I must say, though, that the analysis made by Keith Martin in A New Sith, or Revenge of the Hope is both compelling and amusing. R2-D2 as the true mastermind of the Rebellion? Chewbacca as a rebel agent manipulating Han Solo into making runs to and from Tattoine in order to pass messages to and from Obi-Wan? That’s gold.
